Laker Enrichment Afterschool Program

 

Laker Enrichment Afterschool is the Camdenton School District afterschool program. Laker Enrichment, also known as LEAP, provides a variety of activities for students to participate in during afterschool hours. Programming is open to all students. Each site provides some type
of activities for students to enjoy. Sites include Osage Beach Elementary, Hurricane Deck Elementary, Dogwood Elementary, Hawthorn Elementary, and Oak Ridge Intermediate all offer afterschool programming for students. These programs focus on academic success and helping students reach their highest potential. Students will receive homework help, gain math and reading skills, and participate in a variety of enriching learning activities, including field trips, guest speakers, and special programs. Group projects and community service opportunities are included in the curriculum, giving students the opportunity to learn more about the community and how it works.

Driver's Education is offered through the LEAP program. If you have a student who has earned their driver's permit, they may be eligible. Please contact the Afterschool Office for more information at bmiller@camdentonschools.org.

Laker Enrichment Afterschool Programs are offered Monday-Thursday from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Snacks and recreational activities are provided, giving students a break between the school day and afterschool time. Programs end at 5:30 PM, with transportation provided to designated drop-off points determined by the district. Morning programming varies by site, with library time beginning at 7:00 AM.

Programming will vary from year to year based on the availability of funding, staff, facilities, volunteers, and supplies. Program spots are first-come, first-served, and/or criteria will vary based on activity, grade level, academic content, and other criteria as deemed appropriate.

Laker Enrichment Afterschool Programs are financially supported by the Missouri Comprehensive Afterschool Learning (MOCAL) grant and technically supported by the Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN).
